How to check the excavator engine?
How to check the
excavator engine?
1.When the engine is working, open the mouth cover of the oil, if a thick smoke emerges from the flap, it means that the gap between the piston rings of the cylinder wall is excessively worn or over-limit. If the gap does not meet the requirements, it should be repaired in time. Open the valve cover. If there is green or white smoke coming out from the root of the valve (ie the valve working face), it means that the valve or valve seat is too worn or ablated, or the valve clearance is too small or even no gap, it should be repaired in time.
2.After the diesel engine is turned off, remove the exhaust pipe and check the carbon deposit at the exhaust port to judge the working condition of the diesel engine. The carbon deposit is black and gray, the surface is covered with a layer of hoarfrost, and the carbon deposit layer is extremely thin, indicating that the diesel engine is in good working condition; the carbon color is black and bright, but not wet, indicating that the diesel engine is slightly burned, it should be eliminated in time; The carbon thickness is obviously higher than that of other cylinder exhaust ports, indicating that the cylinder injectors are not working properly or the cylinder sealing performance is deteriorated, and should be repaired or replaced; if the individual exhaust ports are wet or organic, it means that the cylinder is exhausted with a large amount of oil. Repairs should be made; the carbon deposits in the exhaust ports of each cylinder are thicker and darker in color, mostly due to low working temperature or too late injection, which should be used correctly and adjusted in time.
3.When the engine is working, the cooling system water temperature is too high (more than 100 °C, the engine is overheated, resulting in insufficient intake air, and the friction loss of the piston group and the cylinder wall is sharply increased, and the mechanical efficiency is significantly reduced. Therefore, the cooling system should be maintained in time, and the engine works. After 1000h, the scale in the cooling system should be removed. The thermostat and the water pump fan should be kept in good technical state. If there is any fault, it should be eliminated in time.
4.During long-term operation of the engine, the crankshaft and camshaft are subjected to abnormal impact force and distortion. The timing gear, cam surface, follower column and tappet will wear, and the opening and closing time of the intake and exhaust valves will be postponed. Deviation from the optimal valve timing reduces the charging efficiency and reduces the engine power. Therefore, the engine valve timing should be checked regularly, and if it does not meet the requirements, it should be adjusted in time.
