On March 10th, a passenger plane from Ethiopian Airlines flying from Addis Ababa to Nairobi, Kenya, crashed shortly after take-off and none of the 157 crew members survived.
After the accident, at the request of Ethiopian Airlines, the China Railway Seventh Bureau took the Sany excavation machine and rushed to the rescue site to cooperate with Ethiopian Airlines to carry out rescue work.
At the rescue site, it can be seen that the head of the crashed passenger plane left a deep pit of more than 10 meters when it hit the ground. The nose and main engine drilled into the ground below 8 meters. The contents of the victims and the wreckage of the plane are still scattered in the deep pit, which is shocking. The long arm of the Sany excavator is constantly moving.
The search and rescue unit used the Sany excavator to excavate and collect the debris of the large aircraft, such as the nose and the engine room, which were caught in the deep pit, as well as the debris of the large aircraft scattered around the 10,000 square meters. The staff was nervously cleaned and identified in a pile of mud, debris and ruins.
At 13:00 on March 11th, after more than 20 hours of intense work, two black boxes of the crashed passenger plane were found. Next, the Ethiopian government will investigate the cause of the accident. Being able to pinpoint the truth of the incident is also a comfort to the deceased.
Up to now, the search and rescue team and the Sany excavator have remained at the scene of the Ethiopian air crash, carrying out wreck cleaning and body search.
